Kara Carlson, Interim Deputy Director

She will give us an agency overview on the work done by IACNVL to help women who are victims of abuse or violence. This agency is the recipient of our annual AAUW Christmas project. She will include information about the holiday celebrations and other ways to be involved.

Kara Carlson is the Interim Deputy Director at the Interior Alaska Center for Non-
Violent Living where she has worked in a variety of capacities for the last 16 years including advocacy, case management, development, campus advocacy, prevention and coalition coordination. She is very passionate about building a safe and strong community. Kara was born and raised in Fairbanks. She received her BA in Psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage, and received her MPA from the University of Colorado Denver.
